Wow! ¡Carramba! Ouf!
We did it! Thanks to your generosity, we have reached our goal in the BIIN CARES campaign: raising $50,000 to support our neighbors impacted by COVID-19 and the economic downturn. In particular, this fund is being used to support those who received no stimulus check or other forms of federal assistance, even though they pay taxes. We asked and you gave, promptly and generously. Some of you even gave more than once. As many recipients of BIIN CARES funds have said, “Que Dios lo bendiga!” [God bless you!]
100% of these funds have been used to cover the costs of rent and utilities for Brazos County families in need. As of today, over 90 rent and utilities checks have been written, and a final few cases are in process. None of this would have been possible without the generosity of people like you.
We also want to give a shout out to our hard-working crew of BIIN CARES volunteers. They have devoted long hours to talking with families by phone, processing applications, and verifying the needs of individual households. Thank you all too for your invaluable investment in this effort.
