Immigrant Story: Soccorro

Published by Program Manager on

Socorro Hernandez is originally from Zacatecas, Mexico and moved to the U.S. in 1995. When she heard about BIIN’s citizenship classes through a local newspaper, La Voz, she immediately signed up. She completed the 10 week course in April and feels prepared for the naturalization exam that she plans to take soon. Socorro loves and appreciates the freedom and opportunities that the U.S. has provided her family. She hopes that her “son can use these opportunities to do whatever his heart desires and she can do good for future generations and pass back the help she has been given”. She is grateful to the volunteers for taking time out of their schedules to help prepare her and the other students for the citizenship exam. Good luck Socorro! We know you will do great and we look forward to celebrating your success in becoming a U.S. Citizen! A video of this interview will soon be uploaded to our new YouTube channel.
