Brazos Valley Gives Campaign: Now through October 19, 2021

In order to provide quality services at no cost to immigrant neighbors in need, BIIN must raise funds.  We work to do so in many ways:  by applying for grants, soliciting donations from individuals and local community partners, and holding regular fundraising events and campaigns.  Every donation given, as well as every bit of time and talent shared with us by countless volunteers, makes a difference.

In recent years, BIIN has benefited from online fundraising campaigns such as “Giving Tuesday” in early December.  Building on the success of that annual national event, the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley has encouraged area nonprofits to participate in a similar regional effort, known as Brazos Valley Gives. This campaign, which has just begun for fall 2021, culminates on October 19th with a day of “online giving that brings the region together… to raise critical funding and awareness for nonprofit organizations throughout the Brazos Valley.”

BIIN staff, interns and volunteers have been working hard behind the scenes to launch the early giving phase of Brazos Valley Gives. BIIN’s goal for this campaign is to raise enough funds to cover the costs of providing citizenship or English classes for 130 adults.  Thanks to a matching grant of $5,000 generously offered by The Joyce Nies & Peter Witt Foundation, our goal of raising $10,000 is within reach.  Here’s what you can do to help BIIN get the funds it needs to continue its vital work:

  • Your donation will be matched dollar for dollar up to $5,000.

  • Donations made during the early giving period also make BIIN eligible to win incentive prizes of up to $1000 from the Community Foundation.

  • Follow and share BIIN’s social media posts – about the campaign, about our work and our impact – with everyone in your circles. Help spread the word about what BIIN is doing and bring the community together in support of our work!
