As BIIN grows in community outreach and involvement, BIIN has also grown with new program management. Azuzena Mondragon is one of the newly appointed, serving as the new IRA coordinator for BIIN. Azuzena is originally from North Carolina, but has lived in Brenham, Texas since she was 10 years old. Not only does Azuzena balance the responsibilities at BIIN, but also is balancing her academics. Azuzena is currently a senior undergraduate student at Texas A&M University, majoring in University Studies of Society, Ethics, and Law, and minoring in Spanish.

Azuzena first began her journey at BIIN as a Community Outreach Intern. During her time as an intern, Azuzena volunteered for English classes and interacted with the College Station/Bryan community. After her internship, Azuzena continued to volunteer with BIIN for events, classes, and IRA clinics. It was then that the IRA Coordinator position became available and Azuzena took the opportunity to continue her enjoyment in working and helping the immigrant community.

Azuzena hopes through her new position at BIIN to keep the Bryan community and volunteers involved and optimize the full potential of BIIN’s services. Azuzena hopes to also learn throughout her time at BIIN different ways to expand the IRA network and improve the resources available for the community.
