Immigrant Stories: Maryuri

Published by Program Manager on

Maryuri Nuñuz de Gonzalez is a student in our Conversational English Class this fall. She moved to the United States in 1998 from Venezuela to get her PhD at UC Davis and transferred to Texas A&M in 2000. She lives in College Station with her husband. Her son received his Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M and is currently getting his PhD in Philosophy at Villanova University. Maryuri enjoys taking classes at BIIN so she can improve her pronunciation and expand her vocabulary. Her goal is to get a permanent job as a professor. We are thrilled to have her in our classroom and to be a part of her journey!
