Duties: Our Information, Referral, and Assistance (IRA) program is at the core of what BIIN stands for. On Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons we host walk-in hours with trained volunteers who can help connect immigrants to whatever services they are looking for. Cases are varied and can include: translation and interpretation, legal assistance, discrimination, and work issues. Volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and receive training.
Qualifications: 9 month commitment volunteering at least three times a month. Spanish proficiency is necessary, although translation services can be provided in the case of volunteers with needed skills (law, social services, etc).
