Immigrant Story: Indiana

Published by Program Manager on

Meet Indiana. Indiana has been attending classes at Brazos Interfaith Immigration Network for several years with the goal of becoming a United States citizen. This summer, her hard work paid off, and Indiana gained her citizenship. It has been somewhat of an uphill battle for Indiana, as she has been working to gain her citizenship for several long years. Indiana utilized the various resources offered by BIIN throughout the entirety of her journey to citizenship. From Citizenship Classes to Conversation Partners, Indiana has attended many classes to help prepare her for exams and interviews.

Before her final interview, Lily and Natalia, our Conversation Partner Interns, held mock-interviews for Indiana. After passing, she returned to share the excitement and celebrate with our interns! After gaining her citizenship, Indiana remarked that in the future, she hopes to return to BIIN as a volunteer to help local immigrants, like her, become citizens. Indiana’s perseverance, dedication, and spirit makes her an inspiration to our community. Congratulations, Indiana! We are so proud of you and your hard work.
