We are excited to announce two new additions to our staff – Luis Cruz and Anna Carro. Luis started with BIIN in June and Anna started this month.

Luis Cruz Peralta is a native from Veracruz, Mexico. He has lived in Houston for over 20 years and now lives in College Station. A former student from Texas A&M with a major in Spanish, Luis is a passionate person who enjoys helping others in need and hopes to make a difference in his community. He began volunteering with BIIN in September of 2016. As Case Coordinator, Luis is responsible for maintaining the Information, Referral & Advocacy program, meeting with clients, and following up on each case. In addition to being the Case Coordinator at BIIN, he also works at HealthPoint.

Anna Carro Abernathy is originally from Nashville, Tennessee. She went to college at the University of South Carolina and graduate school at Boston University where she received a Master of Theological Studies. Her father, Gabriel, immigrated to the U.S. from Venezuela. As Program Manager, Anna will be handling the day-to-day operations of BIIN. She is excited to see what BIIN can accomplish this year to better serve the immigrant community of Bryan/College Station. Anna is also actively involved in the College Ministry at A&M United Methodist Church.
