The Faces of BIIN

Published by Program Manager on

Originally from Brownfield Texas, Greyson Holt is an outstanding volunteer for our Conversation Partners program. He first found out about BIIN from a friend after revealing his hope to possibly volunteer somewhere he could speak Spanish. He remembers his first experience as a tremendous highlight, even getting the chance to be a part of the KBTX news while they were in our office working on a news piece! During his time here at BIIN, he says he is delighted to co-teach classes with Susan Dennis and enjoys meeting and getting to know the students. Together, they dream and plan for the future of the program and students too! Greyson believes that entering a new culture is quite difficult, with things like language barriers and little work opportunities standing in the way of people’s dreams. For this reason, he would like to see a public that is more familiar and comfortable with Spanish, as well as more extensive literacy programs for immigrants. Describing himself as “goofy and a bit scatterbrained,” when he is not teaching English at an elementary school, you can find him outside and doing anything from swimming, running, stretching and dancing! We are grateful to have such a wonderful volunteer with us and thank him for his devotion to BIIN!
